Sierra Leoneans in Technology (SLinT) is a nonprofit organization founded to unite technologists worldwide and drive innovation, digital empowerment, and sustainable development in Sierra Leone. SLinT brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, and students in technology and related fields to collaborate, learn, and contribute to national progress through technology-driven initiatives, training programs, and community partnerships.

As part of its next growth phase, SLinT is establishing a stronger operational base in Sierra Leone to expand its programs, partnerships, and impact.

Job Summary

The Country Coordinator – Sierra Leone will serve as the primary representative of SLinT in Sierra Leone, overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations, projects, and partnerships. The ideal candidate will manage activities that strengthen SLinT’s national presence, coordinate local programs, and ensure effective implementation of the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

This role requires a proactive, organized, and tech-savvy professional who is passionate about community development, innovation, and capacity building in Sierra Leone’s technology ecosystem.

Reporting Line

  • Reports directly to the President of SLinT and works closely with the Board of Directors and Advisory Board.

Location and Working Conditions:

  • Based in Freetown, Sierra Leone, with flexibility to travel within the country as needed.
  • Hybrid work environment combining fieldwork and remote coordination.

Specific Skills
Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit management, program coordination, or community development.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in technology programs, digital literacy, or innovation ecosystems is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Passionate about technology, youth empowerment, and national development.
Responsible For
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership
  • Oversee the daily management of SLinT’s in-country activities and administrative operations.
  • Act as the main liaison between the SLinT Sierra Leone team, the Board of Directors, and Advisory Board members in the diaspora.
  • Coordinate logistics, communications, and reporting for SLinT programs, meetings, and events.
  • Supervise volunteers, interns, and project teams working on SLinT initiatives.
Program Management
  • Lead the implementation of SLinT’s projects and initiatives, including technology training programs, expos, and community partnerships.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables in coordination with the Board and committees.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and evaluations on ongoing programs and community impact.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector.
  • Represent SLinT in meetings, conferences, and media engagements to increase visibility and influence.
  • Support membership growth and engagement among technologists and students across Sierra Leone.
Fundraising and Partnership Development
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with local and international organizations aligned with SLinT’s goals.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, sponsorship outreach, and grant proposal development.
  • Ensure effective communication of SLinT’s mission and impact to potential partners and donors.
Communications and Reporting
  • Coordinate SLinT’s local communications, public relations, and social media updates.
  • Document success stories, community engagements, and lessons learned from SLinT projects.
  • Provide monthly updates and strategic recommendations to the President and Board.
