Engagement, Advocacy, Collaboration

External Affairs Committee (EAC): All external issues-including fundraising, public relations, and marketing — are the responsibility of this committee, which is staffed by the Director of Membership (or the Executive Director). Additionally, the committee is responsible for developing, updating, and monitoring SLinT’s communications policies, social networking accounts, and electronic discussion groups, as well as recommending new ways for SLinT to communicate with its members and other interested parties through alternative media.

The committee is also responsible for regularly updating and marketing information about SLinT’s activities, Meetings, Community outreach, news updates on SLinT and its members, and other updates on current national and world events impacting SLinT.

This committee will also work with the Fundraising and Board Development Committee; the Marketing and Communications Committee will ensure adequate exposure of SLinT to the public to encourage donations and participation in events by developing a marketing and communications plan to include but not limited to:

  • Marketing SLinT’s brand
  • Marketing fundraising and awareness events and campaigns as appropriate
  • Attracting sponsorships and other fundraising opportunities
  • Monitoring and reviewing all marketing initiatives
